Architect

Passionate about one’s work.
What more can one desire.
For years now, I shared my day-to-day events from a life of an architect. And I always felt kind of sad, that those memorable moments that define and inspire me, inevitable go into oblivion down the endless Facebook stream.
To lengthen their lifespan, I therefore decided to post at least some of them on my Scrapbook.
Unedited.
As they were posted.
For all of you that missed, liked or loved some.
Here they are…

While opting for a rain water usage usually has its roots in eco consciousness, a decision for a home photo voltaic power plant is mostly based on the desire for independence.

We build more and more of both on ‘my’ houses.
Seems like those two mindsets are strong with the clients that choose to work with me.
And I am not complaining, since I feel the same 🙂

Meeting, working with and learning from the local craftsmen, without doubt, one of the more enjoyable and fulfilling parts of architect’s profession.
Discussing the details of the metal staircase of A House for Five and a World of Friends with (http://bit.ly/2xCeDzs).
Thank you Dare for fantastic photos.

A beautiful forestry site at the edge of an urban area.
True rarity.
It took a while before I got commission for that project. And now, when it finally happened, I feel… well…nervous. I mean really nervous.
What to to?
How to address the space?
Use it to its full potential while being subtle at the same time.
Ironically, it is not due to the lack of ideas or options. Contrary, the site and the clients’ brief offers plenty – good ones.
The only comforting thought this days comes from my tutor Glenn Murcutt’s quote. He once said to me that, regardless all the knowledge, experiences, the glory and prizes, every new work still makes him nervous.
Well… if he feels that way, then it is almost my duty to feel nervous as well.
